Information on Dunstable

Dunstable is located in Bedfordshire just off the A505 close to the M1 and A5 and is surrounded by Houghton Regis to the north, Luton to the east, Kensworth to the south and Totternhoe to the west.

Dunstable has a busy High Street and with regeneration of the area it now has several retail parks.  Situated behind the High Street is The Grove Theatre which opened in 2007 and has restaurants and bars adjoining.

Priory House is one of the oldest properties in the town which once was a monastery and is now a Heritage Centre with a beautiful 13th Century Groyne Vaulted Stone Ceiling from the original building.

Dunstable Downs is an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with magnificent views and is the highest point in Bedfordshire.  At the foot of Dunstable Downs is  the London Gliding Club  where you can book a gliding experience to enjoy the spectacular views from the sky.  South of the town is Whipsnade Zoo which first opened in 1931 and is home to a variety of wildlife therefore a popular tourist attraction.
